What are the dimensions of the Sony Playstation 3 console box? Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the Sony Playstation 3 console box? I can't find any information about this anywhere and it's less than a week until launch! These are the dimensions of the actual PS3 console. I'm looking for the dimensions of the box that the console will be coming in. The PS3 measures 12.8"(W) x 3.8"(H) x 10.8"(L) Source(s): ...

Sony Playstation? Where can I download Play station 1 programs that I can burn in a CD and play it in my playstation?

How do I receive magazines and posters from Sony Playstation? How do I receive magazines and such from Sony Playstation. I heard there were promotional codes on Sony things. Also I mean receiving it by mail. So anybody who has a good answer receives 20 points.

theintrospect replied: "lol maybe poise nude for them they might send you a life time of them....lol there usually is codes on sony things"

Phade3 replied: "I joined the Playstation Underground and then once I bought a PS3 I linked my underground with my PSN account and I periodically receive offers etc from Sony. Go to playstation.com and sign up !"

JTPlaya replied: "ok this is what I did. I went to walmart and went to were the magazines were and found the playstation magazine and just took out the subscription form out of it instead of buying the whole magazine and just sent it through the mail and got my magazines"

What is better a Microsft Xbox or a Sony Playstation 2? I am on a budget and I don't want to buy a Xbox 360 or a Sony Playstation 3 so I want to buy either a Xbox or a PS2. What would be the best to buy out of those two. Affordability and reliability.

philo_bedo replied: "I've had both. I'll take X-box over playstation any day of the week. Hands down."

mvc333 replied: "The playstation 2 is backwards compatible with the playstation 1 so you have a larger library of games. Also it depends on what kind of games you like. If you like RPG's then go with the Playstation as it has the final fantasy series and such. If you like First Person Shooters and such then go with the xbox"

Matrix replied: "Playstation 2 hands down. Much better selection of games, (there are even a few still coming out). It's smaller, more reliable, and you can play DVD's without buying extra peripherals. The only thing that you will be lacking by buying a PS2 is Halo, and trust me, an Xbox isn't worth buying for one series. I promise you will be happier with the PS2, good luck!"

zackattack2185 replied: "Xbox is better, but you have more games to play on PS2. But you should just save up and by a Wii."

Thomas H replied: "PS2, there is a whole crap load of A+ games. Alternatively you can compare these lists: "

where can i find controls for the original sony playstation? I was given one of the original sony playstation consoles. It works perfectly, but I've yet to find a wab site where I can order a set of hand held controls for it. Does anyone know where I can find them?

Hazafa T replied: "u poor fuc_ker ur actually going to play a ps1, whats worse ur going to buy a controller for it. u really must be poor. anyways i recommend ebay. they will definitely have ps1 controllers"

Sean is a Villa Fan replied: "Ebay or Amazon but you wont get them new you will only get used U should get a PS3 though"

I am looking to buy a Sony Playstation 3 on the launch date. How early will I need to get to the retalier? I would like to get a sony playstation 3 on the day it comes out. Walmart will start selling them at midnight. How early will I have to get there in order to get one? I live in a town of about 40,000 people.

*CiTsJuStMe* replied: "very very very early you might want to call ahead and see if you can put one on reserve or special order then you will be one of the first ones to get one otherwise good luck because especially in a town that size walmart will be jam packed"

nemo replied: "hahaha i live in a town of rich 40,000 people so it was terrible getting my xbox360. do you have a job? take 2 days off....i would say 2 days ahead or at LEAST 1 because there are way more playstation fans then xbox 360. or you could drive by like twice a day a few days before and see if theres a line yet. if there is, get your ass in that line with them. good luck boy"

Not You replied: "It's probably already too late, I was at a EB Games and they said the preoreders have already been distributed"

tanner s replied: "get there 11:59 good luck y am i here answering q and needing answers i need to get in my room and start playin my NEW PS3"

kikikicombobreaker replied: "I would try to preorder one if possible, from gamestop maybe. To be at Wal-Mart I would be there as soon as possible. If it goes on sale at midnight I would want to be there at least a few hours beforehand, but maybe it's not that hard. I was working at Wal-Mart the day the PS2 came out and that night they had them in the middle of the aisle still on the palates in boxes with just a "SCPH-30000" or whatever that code is on them. You can't take them from there, but you can keep an eye on them if they're sitting out like that. I also put an Xbox on layaway while I was working there because they announced it in the store that they had some. I got it on layaway but I ended up refunding it because I didn't have the money (ended up buying a ps2). Just go to Wal-Mart and hang out there forever. If there's some kind of line going on, or some organization to the process find out from one of the associates how it's going to go down."

night_trekker replied: "Sony is only going to have around 400,000 units in the US (you are in the US, right?) at launch. If you don't have one preordered already, you'll have to get one off the shelf, and with such a shortage of units I don't know that many palces will be selling them like that. You're probably not going to get one at launch. Which is not such a bad thing. Launch units are much more likely to have hardware problems and breakdowns. It would be a better idea to wait a few months, truthfully. Whatever you do, don't get suckered into paying an inflated price to the inevitable jerks who buy the systems and sell them online for a profit."

prekkoy replied: "Very early. There aren't any more preorders being accepted for the PS3, so camping out at a wal-mart or someplace like that will be your best bet. I would get there pretty early if I were you, like a day early. Sony fans are crazy."

How to suggest ideas to Sony Playstation? Is there a way I can throw out ideas to Sony or Playstation for firmware update content on the Playstation 3 system? How would I get my ideas out to them?

Farce replied: "It's tough, but I'm sure if you go to their website and look for their contacts for suggestions (or google it), you can email them. Though I will admit, the chances of them opening your email and actually reading is slim."

kozzm0 replied: "Go to playstation.com and find the forum about tech issues or other related forum and make your post. They have mods who watch for that kind of stuff. Make sure not to post it in playstation3 general, because it will be off of the first page within a few minutes, unless your post is so good that it gets a lot of replies in which case it will be bumped back to the top. That would make them notice it too. But it's hard to do."

Ajaypal replied: "go to us.playstation.com for suggestions."

Who is going to buy the new Sony Playstation 3? Hey, Everyone! I was just wondering if you are going to pick up the new Sony Playstation 3 that comes out today? I don't think I will - too expensive, plus in a year, something new will be coming out!

nick replied: "not me .....i got a 360 which is way beter"

1 Sailor replied: "Not quite, I'm not getting one but it's gonna be like 3 years till something comes out. I'm pickin me up a Wii."

da_kouch replied: "if i could get it, i probably would. But given the fact that the majority of the systems are going to have flaws in them, it really wouldnt be worth it right now. Plus most of them are sold out right now anyway, since all they released was 400,000 units."

superdork replied: "Picked it up today. It's going to be at least 4 or 5 more years before a new system comes out. Maybe the Phantom will be available next year."

Akheel replied: "yes"

ROBIN F replied: "well i think i will wait until it gets cheaper next year right now i have a ps2 and thats good enough for me.for now!!!!!!!!"

Jacob P replied: "Anybody who is getting a ps3 already has one. They went on sale this morning; I'd also wager that those people are playing them and not answering questions on yahoo. The wii goes on sale in two days, and no other major systems will be released for quite some time."

Help Me! replied: "Probably not. Why is this game such a huge deal?"

shogun named max replied: "the price is the thing i would keep in mind. then the games that be released for the system. the only problem is there might not have much of a future for it."

elmolovekitty replied: "I will not buy that system, they expect we the gamer buy their system at any prize. to high for a system. ps4 how much $800.00 , good job sony, u soon will have new record high system in history."

swifty_champleone replied: "People are stupid as hell. I'll buy it when it drops to about $350 for the 60GB system. There no way I'll camp out at a store for several nights for that. I love video games and I have a PS2. I also realize that the PS3 is a new generation system, but not for $600. Read the unnecessary crimes committed for this damn thing: Reports of violence surrounding the release of the PS3 include a customer shot, campers robbed at gunpoint, and customers shot with BB guns, 60 campers fight over 10 systems. One man was sent to the hospitial for an injury when a stampede began after a Walmart reportedly placed 10 chairs outside of the store and told 50 people to "try to get in one of the chairs" for a chance to buy one the 10 systems the store received. In a similar incident elsewhere, police were forced to use pepper balls to contain a rowdy crowd ouside of a Circuit City. Two gunmen robbed a GameStop store the night before the release, taking several PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles."

Whisper replied: "not me..... my $ 600 is needed for other things :)"

rudy l. replied: "i'll wait till it gers cheaper , $600 may be needed for other things , but i'll get it , someday ."

lisa_sonydadc replied: "Not me. I have a PS2 and we never play it. I work for the company and don't want to buy the system.. It just cost to much money.."

Does the Sony Playstation 3 play Blue-ray movies as well as the Sony blue-ray high definition player? Both of these cost $399 so wouldn't it be better to just buy the playstation 3 or am I missing something here? I plan on also buying a Sony 32" Bravia and home theater system and want the best for movies for it.

newtobigd78 replied: "Get the PS3. It plays Blu-ray just as well as any Blu-ray player, plus you get an amazing game console."

In what ways are the Sega Dreamcast better than the Sony Playstation 2? In what ways are the Sega Dreamcast better than the Sony Playstation 2? Apparently, the Sega Dreamcast is stronger than the Sony Playstation 2 in some ways, but in which ways is it stronger?

impzerg replied: "The Sega Dreamcast was ahead of it's time and had the potential to go head on with PS2. The public was just not ready for another console when the Dreamcast was released. The Dreamcast does not have any true advantages."

Dan M replied: "the 2k franchise was awsome and exclusive"

Okami replied: "Sega Dreamcast's graphics were actually about just as good if not slighly better then PS2's but it wasnt graphics that determined the winner. You see PS2 had HUGE hype before dreamcast's release and the buzz went around that PS2 was the real next gen systems supposedly aeons ahead on Dreamcast (Which wasnt true buy sony was cramming this image into the minds of gamers). The Dreamcast had potential and the so called thought advantage of being first turned out to be their disadvantage. Could DC compete with PS2's HUGE support. Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy X. I think that Sega underestimated the competion severly which lead to their demise... GET THIS Final Fantasy 8 was released the same day as Dreamcast. Square-Enix never supported DC, EA never supported EA. Whats the lesson to be learned here? Superior graphics are nice and all but they dont make or break the competition its the support that matters. Who gets the exclusives and who can generate the most hype and publicity and Sony did this the best. Question is... Can it keep up? Possibly..."

shina_mma replied: "The first biggest thing in Sega Dreamcast's favor was that it came out 16 months before PS2. It was also $100 cheaper upon release, than the PS2. From a development standpoint, the Sega Dreamcast was a much much MUCH easier platform to develop on, right out of the box. It's still a popular platform for homebrew game developers, beacuse it's a developer-friendly platform. The PS2 was a much more difficult platform to develop on (especially compared to it's predecessor, the PSOne) for a long time, until Sony APIs and 3rd party development platforms started improving. Sega's licensing policies and fees were also a lot more relaxed than Sony. However, Sony's PSOne was such a great success, that Sony was able to keep stronger 3rd party support than Sega, which resulted in a smaller library of games on Dreamcast. Sony had a larger marketing budget, and an already strong distribution channel. Sega's distribution was weak after Sega Saturn floundered for years in North America. Sony also had more influence over retailers, and was able to secure more shelf space for PS2 games (which became neccesary as their software library outpaced the Dreamcast 5:1). Having worked on several projects both platforms, I can say that the PS2 did have a definite technological edge on the Dreamcast. It wasn't a monstrously huge difference, and one that should be expected considering the 16 month age difference and retail price difference (DC was $200 at launch, and PS2 was $300 at launch) between the two systems. Still, the PS2 was clearly a more powerful console, which is why it remained viable for 7 years, as of next March. From a sheer number standpoint, here are the tehcnical differences: Dreamcast CPU - 200 Mhz PS2 CPU - 294 MHz (+ closely connected to system RAM) Dreamcast GPU - 7.0 Million raw polygons/second PS2 GPU - approx 20~50 Million ray polygons/second (debatable) Dreamcast RAM & VRAM: 16MB & 8MB (100Mhz) PS2 Ram & VRAM: 38MB shared (800MHz) NOTE: I'm pulling these figures from memory, so they may not be exact, but should be close enough to illustrate the differences. The Dreamcast was what it was, a less expensive and developer-friendly console that came out in 1999. The PS2 was a more expensive, and newer console. Even though they're part of the same generation (6th generation), they - as well as the anomalous Nintendo Gamecube and the late-breaking Xbox - are all pretty different platforms in many regards. It's a lot like 7th generation of consoles... Xbox 360 is a modestly-powerful and lower-cost console that's very VERY easy to develop on. PS3 is technologically almost a whole generation ahead of itself, very expensive, and nearly impossible to develop on. And the Wii is a friendly anomaly, manufactured by Nintendo, who marches to a different drummer."
